What travelers need to know

  • What happened: Hilton signed agreements for two new hotels in Bengaluru — Conrad Bengaluru Airport and Hilton Bengaluru Airport — with a combined 600 rooms, in partnership with Kalyani Group.
  • Who's affected: Business and leisure travelers to Bengaluru, India's technology hub, along with meetings and events planners seeking large-scale venue space.
  • Where: KIADB Hi-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park, near Bengaluru's airport corridor.
  • What to do: Both properties are newly signed and not yet open; no booking dates have been announced.

Hilton said it has signed deals to build two hotels in Bengaluru carrying 300 rooms each, under its Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels & Resorts brands. The company is developing the project with Bengaluru-based Kalyani Group, the same partner behind DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield, which opened in 2024.

The new cluster will rise in the KIADB Hi-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park, an area Hilton describes as a growing hub for technology, aerospace, and corporate activity tied to India's expanding aviation sector. Conrad Bengaluru Airport will become the brand's second property in the city, joining an existing Conrad presence in Pune and one under development in Jaipur. Hilton Bengaluru Airport will be the company's fourth Hilton-branded hotel in the city.

A repeat bet on Bengaluru

The signing extends what Hilton calls its largest Indian market by hotel count. The company currently operates eight Hilton properties across India, in cities including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurugram, Jaipur, and Goa, alongside Bengaluru, with another 11 in the pipeline nationwide. Each of the two new Bengaluru properties will include multiple dining venues, wellness facilities, and meeting and event space, according to Hilton.

Combined, the two hotels will offer more than 72,000 square feet of event space, positioning the cluster to compete for large conferences, corporate gatherings, and social events — a segment Hilton points to as a growth driver given rising demand in the region.

The deal also reinforces Hilton's relationship with Kalyani Group. Executives from both companies marked the signing in Bengaluru, including Alan Watts, Hilton's president for Asia Pacific, and Zubin Saxena, the company's senior vice president and regional head for South Asia, alongside Kalyani Developers directors Priyanka M Raju, Roopa Raju, and Rohan M Raju.

What the brands bring to the site

Hilton describes Conrad as a brand built around contemporary luxury, pairing curated art and design with experiences meant to let guests engage with a destination at their own pace. The standard Hilton-branded hotel, by contrast, is pitched at both business and leisure travelers, combining what the company calls global sophistication with local hospitality, dining, and event programming.

No opening date has been set for either property, and Hilton's announcement did not include a construction timeline. The signing adds to a broader pattern of brand-cluster development in India, where Hilton and other global chains have increasingly paired multiple brands on a single site to capture different segments of demand — budget-conscious groups, luxury travelers, and large corporate bookings — within one location. For now, the Bengaluru project remains at the signing stage, with Hilton and Kalyani Group expected to provide further details as development proceeds.
