The Balkans are underrated for multi-country itineraries. Four nights in Croatia (Split + Dubrovnik), two in Montenegro (Kotor Bay), three on the Albanian Riviera (Himarë or Dhërmi) works as a south-bound road trip. Roads are improving but still bumpy outside the A1 in Croatia — a hire car is necessary. Budget is roughly 60% of a Western European trip of equivalent length.
Each day is written to balance structure with breathing room. Named hotels, named meals, named activities; logistics noted where they matter.

The Balkans' geography makes multi-country trips natural — the Dalmatian coast (Croatia), the Bay of Kotor (Montenegro), and the Albanian Riviera are a contiguous coastal arc divided by 20th-century politics, not geography. Each has a distinct character at very short distance.
