Yes, but respect the code: stay right, signal turns with your arm, never stop in a bike lane, and don't ride on tram tracks. Locals will yell at you — it's not personal. Lock bikes with two locks (one to a fixed object); theft is common. Rentals include locks and cost $12–18/day.

April–September is the sweet spot for Netherlands. Tulip season in mid-April and mild May through early September are the sweet spots. Winter is dark and drizzly but Amsterdam's museums shine; December carries holiday market energy.
