Zurich is not a street food city in the Bangkok or Istanbul sense, so calibrate expectations accordingly. The weekly markets do better work: the Helvetiaplatz market on Tuesdays and Saturdays draws vendors selling raclette scraped onto bread, grilled bratwurst, and seasonal produce dishes that eat well standing up. The Bürkliplatz Saturday market along the lake is more tourist-facing but still has decent grilled fish and cheese. For something more structured, the food trucks that cluster around Escher-Wyss-Platz (Kreis 5) on weekend evenings rotate through rotating chefs doing quality small plates. Prices are Swiss, meaning a bratwurst with bread runs around CHF 7-9. Nothing here competes with a proper street food culture, but the quality floor is high because Zurich simply does not tolerate bad food at any price point.
