The JetBlue Plus is a card that pays for itself twice — the 5,000 anniversary points are worth roughly $65 and cover most of the $99 annual fee, and a single trans-con round-trip where you check a bag and travel with a partner saves another $70+. That's the fee already recovered before you consider the 6x earning rate on JetBlue purchases.
The pathway to Mosaic status is the reason experienced JetBlue flyers actually value this card. Spend $50,000 per year on the card and you earn 15,000 Mosaic-qualifying points — which alongside actual JetBlue flying can get you to Mosaic 1 status faster than flying alone would. Mosaic gets you free changes, free EMS seat selection, and priority everything. For a JetBlue-loyal Northeast flyer, that stack is meaningful.
Where the card gets thin is against non-JetBlue airline cards. TrueBlue points do not transfer, JetBlue awards are revenue-based with no sweet spots, and the network is regionally concentrated. Hold this card if you fly JetBlue 3+ times a year. Skip it if you do not.
