Tel Aviv runs on a rhythm most beach cities can't manage — mornings on the sand along the Mediterranean, a full workday in between, then a nightlife scene that doesn't start until well after dark. It's a compact city, and the coastal strip does a lot of the work: hotels here put you within walking distance of the beach, the promenade, and the restaurant density that makes this a food city as much as a beach one.
