The short version

Advertiser Disclosure: Destination.com is an advertising-supported travel guide. Some of the credit card offers on this page are from partners who compensate us when you're approved for a card through our links. This compensation may influence which cards we feature and where they appear, but it does not affect our recommendations, which are based on the travel benefits we believe fit each trip. Terms and rates for every card are set by the issuer and can change at any time — always confirm the current terms on the issuer's application page before you apply.

Destination.com is an advertising-supported travel guide. When credit-card offers, hotel links, or activity links appear on the site, we may be compensated if you complete a booking or are approved for a card through those links. That compensation supports our editorial team; it never changes the price you pay or the offer terms set by the issuer or merchant. This page is the reference-of-record for how we handle those relationships and how they shape (and do not shape) the recommendations you see.

Partner networks

The card-affiliate networks we work with or plan to work with are listed below. Status is the current program state on this site — a partner may be contractually signed but not yet routed to live traffic. We update this list when a program flips on, flips off, or changes tier.

  • CardRatings (QuinStreet)Contract signed, launch in progress

Non-branded category program. When a reader clicks a card offer we surface via CardRatings and is approved for a card, QuinStreet pays destination.com a commission. Card copy, rates, and terms come from the issuer's own page — we do not receive a bounty for a specific card over another within the category.

  • BankrateContract pending

Publisher terms are in review. No live traffic reaches Bankrate today; we will paste their required verbatim boilerplate into this page before that changes.

  • Impact.comTravel only

Currently used for travel affiliates (stays, activities, transfers). If we extend it to a card-issuer program in the future, that additional relationship will be listed here.

How our AI recommender works — and what it does not use

When you enter a trip into our planner, our AI matches the trip attributes you supply against a static, editorially maintained model of card rewards categories. The trip attributes it uses are the ones you type in or opt into:

  • Destination and region
  • Hotel brand preferences (if any)
  • Airline or alliance mix (if any)
  • Trip budget and length
  • Travel style (family, luxury, business, budget)

We never use, request, or infer:

  • Your credit score, credit tier, or any credit-bureau data
  • Your income, employment, or personal financial information
  • Approval-odds or pre-qualification signals from any issuer or network
  • Proxies for the above — e.g. zip-code median income, device value, or third-party demographic overlays — as an input to which card the recommender suggests

The recommender does not personalise which card it surfaces based on characteristics we have inferred about you. Two travellers who enter the same trip get the same recommendation. The inline block under every AI-generated recommendation restates this in-context.

FTC 16 CFR Part 255 — plain English

Under the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides at 16 CFR Part 255, any material connection between us and a product we recommend must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, close to the recommendation itself. The FTC calls this the “Four Ps”: the disclosure must be Prominent, Presented plainly, Placed where readers will see it, and Proximate to the claim it modifies. A single footer-only link at the bottom of a long article is generally not enough on its own.

The FTC's 2023 update to the Endorsement Guides explicitly extended the guides to AI-generated commercial recommendations. That is why every AI-generated card suggestion on this site carries an inline disclosure directly under the recommendation, in addition to the banner at the top of the page and this long-form policy. See the FTC's .com Disclosures guidance for the underlying framework.

Corrections

If you spot something inaccurate on this page or in any commercial recommendation elsewhere on the site — a stale rate, an out-of-date bonus, an offer that has ended — we want to know. Email corrections@destination.com and we will fix it. We publish material corrections on our corrections page.
