4-day Marrakech, Morocco itinerary

Four days split between medina chaos and villa calm. Stay in a riad in the medina for the first two nights, then move to a Palmeraie villa for the last two.

Day 1

  1. Arrive + get your bearings · Note

    Have the riad send someone to meet you at Bab Doukkala or Bab Agnaou — the medina lanes are unlabeled and Google Maps only half-works.

  2. Jemaa el-Fna after dark

    Sit at one of the numbered food stalls (48 is a local favorite). Fresh orange juice from any of the carts.

  3. Le Salama rooftop

    For the aerial view of the square. Overpriced drinks but you're paying for the vantage.

Day 2

  1. Bahia Palace

    Get there at opening. The ceilings are the reason.

  2. Ben Youssef Madrasa

    Recently restored. The courtyard is the shot.

  3. Souks self-guided walk

    Follow the leather souk east from Rahba Kedima. Ignore anyone offering to guide you 'to the tannery' — it's a common scam.

  4. Nomad rooftop

    Dinner. Book upstairs. Modern Moroccan, view of the spice square.

Day 3

  1. Jardin Majorelle + YSL Museum

    Book Majorelle timed entry online; walk-up queues can hit an hour. The YSL museum is smaller than you expect but focused and good.

  2. Le Jardin Secret

    The lesser-known medina garden. Two restored courtyards + a tower with a Mount Atlas view on clear days.

  3. Amal Center

    Lunch at the women's cooperative in Gueliz. Home cooking, and the profit funds the training program.

Day 4

  1. Atlas foothills day · Transport

    Grab taxi or hire a driver to Imlil (90 min). Even a 2-hour walk up toward Toubkal gives you a real break from the medina.

  2. Kasbah du Toubkal

    Lunch here if you can. Terraced, valley views, and the profits fund the local Berber village.

  3. Hammam farewell

    Back in the city, book Les Bains de Marrakech or Hammam de la Rose for the classic gommage. Two-hour reset before flying.
