Rove Miles is transforming from an online travel booking portal into a broader rewards platform, according to a report, introducing card-linked dining rewards at approximately 2,000 restaurants alongside instant gift card redemptions and a newly launched mobile application.

The program's dining feature allows members to link a payment card and automatically earn miles when dining at participating establishments, with rewards reportedly reaching up to 14 miles per dollar spent. The company has not disclosed which technology platform powers the dining network, though similar programs in the market typically rely on established restaurant reward networks providing access to thousands of locations.

Rove Miles operates as an independent loyalty program unaffiliated with any bank, airline, or hotel chain. Members can accumulate miles through shopping, travel bookings, and now everyday spending, then transfer those miles to more than 20 partner loyalty programs or redeem them directly for flights and accommodations. The platform's hotel bookings are said to remain eligible for earning loyalty points and status benefits with hotel programs, while miles can frequently be redeemed at 1.25 cents each toward paid travel.

The program has assembled transfer partnerships with carriers including Lufthansa Miles & More, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, SAS, Air India, Air Canada, and Air France-KLM—several of which are difficult to access through major credit card reward programs. New sign-ups reportedly receive 500 miles immediately, with the current offer published through August 31.

Additional features rolling out include in-store card-linked offers beginning with hundreds of retailers, a rebuilt hotel booking platform with expanded availability of loyalty-eligible rates, and browser extensions for Safari. The company has released an iPhone application and Android public beta that consolidates flights, hotels, shopping, dining, gift cards, transfers, and account management into a single interface.

Unlike competitors such as Bilt, which benefits from distribution through residential properties, Rove Miles faces the challenge of building a customer base without a captive audience, requiring the program to deliver competitive value on individual transactions to maintain member engagement.
