Breeze Airways will begin flying nonstop between Tampa and Santo Domingo starting June 18, 2027, Tampa International Airport said. The route will run year-round, twice a week, making it the first continuous, 12-month air link between Tampa and the Dominican capital, according to the airport.

The low-cost carrier will fly the route aboard an Airbus A220-300, departing Tampa Fridays and Mondays. It's the sixth international destination Breeze has added from Tampa, airport officials said, and the second Dominican Republic route the airline has launched there this year — Breeze started nonstop Punta Cana service out of Tampa on July 2, 2026.

Schedule runs midday both directions

Alex Heiter, Tampa International's director of air service development, framed the route as evidence of Breeze's deepening presence at the airport. "What a thrill it has been to watch Breeze's rapid growth at TPA," Heiter said. "By adding another international nonstop flight, the airline continues to increase its commitment to TPA and will soon offer Tampa Bay travelers another easy way to reach the Dominican Republic."

Breeze frames it as part of a broader Tampa build-out

Breeze founder and CEO David Neeleman pointed to the carrier's "high-value, low-cost model" as the draw in the Tampa market, saying demand there continues to support growth. "We continue to see great demand for our high-value, low-cost model in Tampa, and our continued growth there is an example of just that," Neeleman said. "This new travel option to Santo Domingo will give Tampa another option to come fly Breeze when they want to take that next trip."

With Punta Cana already running and Santo Domingo set to follow, Breeze now anchors two Dominican Republic gateways out of Tampa, giving the airline a stronger foothold in a market that previously relied on seasonal or connecting service to reach the capital. Travelers looking to book the June 2027 launch can do so now through Breeze's website, where fares for the twice-weekly flights are already listed.
