Best Western launches 20% bonus gift card promotion

Best Western has launched a limited-time promotion offering customers bonus value when purchasing gift cards for its properties, according to a report from One Mile at a Time.

Under the promotion, which runs from August 19 through September 2, 2026, travelers who purchase $100 in Best Western e-gift cards will receive an additional $20 bonus card. The offer is capped at five gift card purchases per person, allowing customers to earn up to $100 in bonus value. The primary gift cards carry no expiration date and can be transferred to other users, while the bonus cards must be redeemed by February 28, 2027.

The gift cards are available for purchase in multiple currencies including U.S. dollars, Canadian dollars, euros, and British pounds, and can reportedly be used at Best Western properties worldwide. However, the promotion comes with certain limitations. The gift cards cannot be applied to prepaid room rates or used as a reservation guarantee, according to the report.

For frequent Best Western guests, the promotion offers a straightforward discount on future stays, provided they can use the bonus cards within the roughly five-month redemption window. The transferability of the cards also allows purchasers to gift them to others or sell them if their travel plans change, though this flexibility does not extend to the time-limited bonus cards.

The promotion aligns with similar gift card offers periodically run by hotel chains to drive advance bookings and lock in customer spending. Best Western has run comparable promotions in the past, though the 20% bonus rate represents a competitive offer within the hospitality sector.
