How do I get from the airport to the city in Vienna?
Take the CAT (City Airport Train) or the S-Bahn S7 from Vienna International Airport to the city center — both depart from the terminal's underground rail station. The CAT is the faster option at 16 minutes to Wien Mitte/Landstraße, runs every 30 minutes, and costs €14.90 one-way; you can check in luggage and print boarding passes onboard, which is genuinely useful on departure. The S7 takes about 25 minutes to Wien Mitte and costs roughly €4.20 using a standard city transit ticket, making it the obvious choice if you're not in a rush. A third option is the U-Bahn: take the S7 one stop further to Rennweg and connect to the U3, or stay on to Praterstern for the U1 or U2. Taxis run around €30-40 to the first district and take 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Skip the private transfer services unless someone else is paying.
