Qatar Airways Opens Summer 2025 QSuites Award Space for 54,000 Points

Qatar Airways has made extensive business class award seats available for next summer on routes connecting North American cities to Doha, with pricing starting at 54,000 points one-way when booked through partner programs.

The availability, which follows the carrier's pattern of releasing award space when new flights enter the booking schedule approximately one year ahead, covers multiple daily departures throughout July 2025. According to travel rewards analysts, two business class award seats can typically be found on most days from cities including Atlanta, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington Dulles, Houston, New York JFK, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago O'Hare, Philadelphia, Seattle, and the Canadian cities of Montreal and Toronto.

Award pricing varies by distance, with direct U.S.-to-Doha segments requiring between 70,000 and 94,500 points each way. Itineraries continuing beyond Doha to destinations across the Middle East, India, or the Maldives will command higher point totals. The seats are being made available through Qatar's Privilege Club program and partner airlines sharing the Avios currency, particularly British Airways, though notably not through American Airlines AAdvantage or Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.

A concurrent 30% transfer bonus from American Express Membership Rewards to British Airways Avios has reduced the effective cost for cardholders booking through British Airways, bringing the minimum redemption rate down to approximately 54,000 transferred points. Travelers booking outbound journeys from North America to Doha will generally find more availability than on return flights, according to industry observers.

Qatar implemented booking restrictions in June 2024 that affect travelers using the airline's own Privilege Club program. Award tickets issued through Qatar may now only be booked for the account holder, up to four adult Privilege Club members added to a "My List" feature, or up to six people enrolled in the carrier's Family & Friends pooling program. Members added to either group face a six-month lock-in period, making booking through partner programs like British Airways a more flexible option for those traveling with companions who lack Qatar accounts meeting the 30-day minimum age requirement.
