Hotel rooms at four- and five-star properties across the United States and Canada are set to become digital art galleries following a partnership between hospitality technology provider HCN and art platform Artography.

Under the arrangement, HCN's in-room tablets will provide guests access to a collection of more than 200,000 licensed artworks available for purchase. The integration enables travelers to browse the extensive catalog during their stay and arrange for pieces to be shipped directly to their homes, turning downtime in hotel rooms into shopping opportunities.

The collaboration targets upper-tier properties where in-room technology is already a standard amenity. By embedding the art marketplace into existing tablet systems, the companies aim to transform what has traditionally been a transactional guest experience into one with a cultural dimension. Guests can explore the collection at their leisure without leaving their rooms or navigating separate platforms.

The initiative reflects broader hospitality industry efforts to monetize in-room technology beyond traditional service requests and entertainment options. For hotels, the partnership offers a potential revenue stream while enhancing the guest experience with curated content. For travelers, it provides access to a licensed art marketplace that can be browsed in a relaxed setting, with purchases delivered after checkout.

The licensing structure ensures that artists and rights holders are compensated for sales generated through the hotel platform. Neither company has disclosed financial terms of the agreement or projected sales figures from the integration.
